RE: JAYCO warranty question

I wonder why they changed their policy for models built after 2007?

RE: cleaning the roof of snow

I've cleared snow two ways: 1. From a step ladder using a nylon bristle push broom 2. From the roof, crawling around on my hands and knees, pushing the snow off with my hands and arms.

RE: Cordless Drill

Same boat here, the replacement cost for battery packs is more than buying a new drill. I got a similar deal on a Dewalt 18v 1/2" chuck drill @ Lowe's this weekend. A nice upgrade to my old 19.2 v Craftsman 3/8" chuck drill.

RE: Tire life on 2500HD Silverado, and what to replace with?

I've had the Firestone Steeltex on my truck, replaced them with Michelin LTX M/S and this Spring put a set of Firestone Transforce A/T's on it. Both the LTX M/S or the Transforce A/T's would be a good choice...the Firestones being a bit more affordable.

RE: What tip do you have to save us money to keep camping?

We have been collecting cans and bottles from work and friends. My son has a ball going to the redemption center every two weeks or so. We have been putting the money aside for this summer's camping trips. Coupled with that, we also have been eating out less, buying more store brand merchandise and eating more casserole type dishes for dinner versus steak and seafood.

RE: NEW HAMPSHIRE

There are also some nice campgrounds in the N. Conway area such as Glen-Ellis, The Beach, Eastern Slope. All of these are a stone throw from area attractions like the Conway scenic railway, Storyland, Santa's Village, Mt. Washington Auto Road/cog railway...

RE: supercenter pricing

This is a fine example of the classic marketing scheme of luring people in with a low price and then making up their profit in "fees". Charging several hundred dollars for a PDI is ridiculous. Shop around...I bet you will find a much better deal elsewhere.

RE: Maine / New Hampshire Coast Campers.... Help....

Market Basket has been selling 1 - 1.25 lb lobsters for $3.99 a pound. I doubt if that price will last long. $6 to 8 bucks a pound is usually the norm.

RE: Trade-in or re-sale value of RV with pets

Several years ago when we were just beginning our search for a travel trailer, we looked at some used units. On some of them, I didn't even need to step a full step inside to know that the previous owners had pets. Some of the units were priced to move but I wouldn't even consider them...same went for units whose previous owners smoked...

RE: How do I know when enough water is in my Black Tank?

When I went out on my first trip, I filled the toilet bowl using an empty gallon milk jug. The toilet held about half a gallon. Now at the end of each trip after dumping the tanks, I fill the toilet bowl up about 6 to 10 times, add the blue tank treatment and head home. Never had any problems with odor or clogs.

RE: Outside Cook Stoves

I have two old (from the 60's) white fuel Coleman camp stoves and we bring along the small propane travel grill as well. Cooking on the old Coleman stoves, hash/eggs/bacon etc really bring back memories of camping trips of my youth...

RE: Wood Framing vs Aluminum Framing

I say floorplan has to be the number one priority. We lucked out with Jayco as they offer the same floorplan in the Jayflight G2 32bhds and the Eagle 324bhds. We decided on the Eagle because of the upgrades such as the larger fridge and water heater. In this economy dealers are pretty desperate. I bet if you really work your local guy enough, you can get the price down on the Eagle to within 2-3K of the Jayflight price. It never hurts to haggle...

RE: Advice for 1st camping trip with new TT?

If you decide on the beach and it gets windy, keep an eye on your awning...maybe even buy a tie down ahead of time.

RE: What size television fits in JayFlight 28BHS?

We had a 29bhs and found a Polaroid tv with the dvd built in at Wal-mart. It fit ok, it stuck out proud of the opening about 1.5 inches and as a result we couldn't secure it for travel and had to take it down and store it on the floor while traveling. This resulted in some chipping of the moulding, so be very careful. We won't have the same problem next season as we have an Eagle 32bhds on order.

RE: Jayflight vs Eagle Jayco Trailers

I signed over title on my Jayflight 29bhs and ordered a 2009 Eagle 324bhds yesterday.

RE: Jayflight vs Eagle Jayco Trailers

My wife pointed out that in the Eagle, the reading lights over the queen bed are adjustable. There are several little upgrades to the fit and finish like this in the Eagle vs. the Jayflight which is why we have decided to upgrade to the Eagle for the 2009 season.
